Drag! I never made it anywhere near the end. What happened? I guess if I see someone knocking, my mind just wants to fill in a door or something. I found it more boring and incomprehensible than depressing.

Dear Wendy uses an actual set made to resemble the real world. I liked the staging of Dogville and Manderlay. I don't know why you'd spend time imagining doors though. Who gives a shit about doors?

I kind of hated Dogville right up until the last chapter, I actually stopped watching it a little more than half-way through because it was just too depressing and bleak (and that's saying a lot because I usually dig downer movies). The next day I decided to watch the rest, just for the sake of completeness, and then totally loved it retroactively. I've never seen a movie with such a great payoff at the end.

Great review! Makes me want to check it out. But man did I HATE Dogville. What I could stomach anyway. Have refused to rent Kidman vids since. I'm sorry, call me an unimaginative lowbrow, but I don't think I should have to pretend that there's a door or a set or a plot or anything. Special effects are pretty impressive now. So like make a door. So did Dear Wendy have sets and whatnot. Or was it like some incomprehensibly bad play too?
