I liked the staging of Dogville and Manderlay. I don't know why you'd spend time imagining doors though. Who gives a shit about doors? I kind of hated Dogville right up until the last chapter, I actually stopped watching it a little more than half-way through because it was just too depressing and bleak (and that's saying a lot because I usually dig downer movies). The next day I decided to watch the rest, just for the sake of completeness, and then totally loved it retroactively. I've never seen a movie with such a great payoff at the end.
